2010 KACA Annual Training
September 22, 23 & 24 2010
Great Wolf Lodge, Kansas City, KS
Make plans now to attend the Kansas Animal Control 2010 Annual Training. This year we will be in Kansas City, Kansas at Village West, a recently developed shopping and entertainment center located conveniently near I-435 and I-70. It includes the NASCAR track, T-bones ball field, the Legends shopping center, Nebraska Furniture Mart, Cabela's and many restaurants.
We have secured rooms at the Great Wolf Lodge where we will develop our skills for "Surviving Tough Times". In these unstable economic times we must learn how to make the most with what we have. A workshop will be included on how to repair and maintain our equipment. Students are encouraged to bring any broken or damaged equipment with them to the class.
We also recognize that many of you are seeing an increase in strays and owner-gives at your shelters, and possibly fewer adoption. This may also result in higher numbers of euthanasia. A half-day course on compassion fatigue will be presented by Tracy Zaparanick, PhD, L.C.S.W. to address the issues that this can create for yourself and your staff.
As always, we plan to include plenty of opportunities for participants to socialize and take advantage of the local attractions.
Print out the registration form for hotel information. Hope to see you there.
