the Police Department.
Responsibilities: Serves as first line supervisor to animal control
officers. Plans, assigns, supervises, coordinates and participates in
enforcement of City ordinances governing impounding, caring and
sheltering
of animals.
Requirements: Basic education with specialized administrative and
technical
animal control training. Must possess a valid driver's license and
maintain
an insurable driving record. 1-2 yrs. exp. working in the field of
animal
control.
Normal Work Hours: Days/hours vary. Salary Range: $3443-$4303 mth

ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER
The City of Hutchinson, Kansas (population 40,000) is currently recruiting for the position of Animal Control Officer. Enforcement of City animal control laws and regulations, responding to complaints about animals, investigating cruelty to animal cases and answering incoming telephone calls are the primary responsibilities of this position. A high school diploma or G.E.D. is required. Must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license at time of employment and comply with residency requirement within one year of employment. Must possess Firearm Certification, which is to be obtained through on the job training. National Animal Control Association Level I Certification is preferred.
